This is an extensive project and will be done in several phases.

PHASE 1

Wheal Rashleigh: A new Pipeline will be laid between lakes.

Wheal Rashleigh: Top car park area extended & levelled, road down to area between the two lakes, car park area, grading to Waldon Pond.

Waldon:  Access lane around the back of Waldon, using over burden from pipe/road work.

Waldon: Car park 20m x 6 m, drainage to culvert will be created in Waldon next to existing track.

All the above work is being paid for by grants we have received and not from Club funds. However we need members help to achieve our dreams, so please look out on the Club forum and check your emails for Work Party dates.

The first official work party was held on Sunday 11th November to start clearing the Rhododendrons from around both wheal Rashleigh and Waldon Pond. Here are a few pictures.

As part of the Wheal Rashleigh and Waldon Pond Regeneration, fish stocking is an integral part.
We all would like fantastic fisheries and we hope to achieve this with Wheal Rashleigh and Waldon over the next few years.
This initial stocking is just to show that we are heading in the right direction.
The carp that have been stocked are from a local Cornish supplier and are fast growing. Other fisheries which have stocked these Carp have reported very quick growth rates so we can all look forward to some great catches in years to come.
March 2008 will see the delivery of the F1 Carp, this is a special breed of carp aimed mainly at the match and pleasure angler as they only grow to a few pounds in weight.
At this time we do not know how many of these Carp we will get as they are being given FOC by the fish farm when the lake is drained for re stocking. We will all have to just wait and see.
